At the beginning, this book seemed like it was going to be about a brave free spirited girl, taking on a mask and daringly robbing the rich. After awhile, I realized that even though it was quite well written, it did not seem to follow the books description at all. I enjoyed it, and it most definitely left me surprises at every corner, not knowing what was really going to happen, but it didn't follow what the back cover portrayed it as. I don't believe that this is necessarily a bad thing, but I did leave me crinkling my brow in confusion at times. The storyline was vibrant, and it stuck with what Bath would have been like in that century. It could have used more action but what the author gave was enough to satisfy the imagination. All in all a good simple read, that left you with a satisfying ending.

I would suggest this for any young women. The historical references may be a big hard to understand at times, but the message is clear. The book is about a bold, clever girl's attempts to defy and escape her abusive father and the marriage he intends to force her into. Slight spoiler My favorite part is that the book doesn't end on a happy girl falls in love type note as most books marketed to women. The books end as two young women establish their independence and choose the lives they want to live. Would love a sequel

Parental Notes No s*x, profanity, gore, or any of that other stuff your kids watch on tv were in this book.
Yet another title by this author that I enjoyed from beginning to end. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of historical truth mixed with a fantastic storyline.
I loved the book but felt like the main fight/where everything was revealed was a bit underwealming, and happened to fast.
I will read it again, but isn't a book I would have bought if I had read it first.
