Beautifully written poems of a young man’s journey to love and understandingThis gorgeous volume of poetry by James Moxley contains more than fifty piece of prose and poetry. The themes vary from love’s loss and return to self-affirmations of will power to fears of failure, and life’s ever-changing path. “The Spirit of Will Power” is one of the most striking pieces to me—I love the positive vibe from it—“I won’t stop trying until I exceed/ I am the captain of my own deed / I pass all negative thoughts in spite…” These are wonderful, motivational lines that may apply to anyone who reads them. I was also struck by “The Will Watch the Sunrise with You,” which is so lovely and rhythmic that I could image it set to music. Most of these poems are brief, but effective. The word choices are vivid and flowing. It is overall a very nicely written collection. I would recommended it to anyone who loves strongly constructed poetry.

James Moxley, is now one of my favorite authors. This book is a sweet and very well written collection of poetry that will captivate anyone at any age or stage of life. Some of the poems are short but very well written, while others are a little lengthier but still reach the heart. The author has created great writing based on his own experiences. You don’t have to be “in love” to enjoy this collection of beautifully written poems.
This is a great collection of poems. The book starts out with a 2 page story and is followed by ~75 poems. Although these poems vary in length, all of them are very well written. Some of my favorites include "A Long Journey Ahead" and "December Night Blues." I would definitely recommend this book to everybody because I think that each person will find at least one poem that they could relate to.
The author has definitely branded his signature in his work. Defining multiple methods to express emotions that are at the core of soul.
Great book. Written by a young man with experiences that have given him wisdom to share. If you haven't bought a copy yet, you should. What do you really have to lose? I can't wait to read the next one!
I really enjoy poetry. A good poem will have many meanings hidden within, and each typically reveals itself to a like-mind. James Moxley gives the reader a collections of poems, written on his journey to overcome his personal struggles, and most of James' poetry is good. Inside most of his poems are a multitude of messages.
James Moxley’s book “The Young Lover with a Destiny” is one of poems that are meaningful, heartwarming, and straight forward. Some are short and some are long, but each one can sit alone and be just as good as all the rest. It takes about 50 or more poems to create a book of this nature and Moxley does a great job. His themes are fruitful, sometimes going back in history. Some are motivational and some are written for self-development. Love and poetry are always two topics that blend together well and Moxley does a great job of putting his work to the press in his book. I strongly suggest this book for avid poem writers and readers.
In an attempt to put it briefly, I absolutely loved this collection of poetry pretty much from start to finish – and it has not only left me impressed, but also with an author’s name to keep an eye on, in anticipation of future releases. I hope to see more in the future.
I enjoyed each poem just as much as the last but if I had to pick a favorite, it would most likely be “December Night Blues” – I think this poem is written particularly well and I couldn’t help but find myself relating to it. I highly recommend this collection for any fans of poetry who are looking for a collection that is filled with passion and raw emotion, all expressed through a vivid, visually-rich writing style.
