What's a soiled dove to do when she suddenly finds herself with child? Eighteen-year-old Gwyndolyn Klein certainly never envisioned her life coming to this when desperate measures landed her in Miss Sadie's bawdy house at the tender age of fourteen. Desperate for a fresh start and a quiet place to raise her daughter alone, she sets out with little more than the clothes on her back and her newfound faith in God. But when she meets handsome young Tucker Lawson, a conductor for the Underground Railroad, does she dare hope for a second chance? As the mistress of a rather large southern plantation in Tennessee, Addie Frankford seems to have it all...except the one thing she wants the most-a child. Her husband, Cooper Frankford, seems determined to hold her at arm's length until a moment of weakness results in a child that could cost Addie her very life.

I enjoyed this story. It was kind of an odd writing style It has allot of different points of view and it switched between pov quickly which made it confusing. And the book need some major editing as far as fonts and spacing goes it switches fonts then has big gaps, and then goes into double spacing, it was just weird and confusing.Anyways the story itself was sweet, the Christian side was a little preachy and forced but not too bad. There were definitely some tears in my eyes throughout this book. Overall enjoyable

A Season for Hope edition by Bethany Largent Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I sympathized with the characters and grew to know them all very well. Excellent story and well written. Kept reading into the wee hours until I finished it. It's now 110AM. Good night!
A Season for Hope is absolutely fantastic! It is an easy read and keeps you captivated the entire time. The twists and turns that happen and the connections between the people make this an unpredictable book. I could not put it down!
I really enjoyed this book and the ease in which you could connect to the characters. I also like that the story shared hardships, healing in Christ, & recovery.
This book is very well written, and was a pleasure to read. I read A Season For Hope in little less than two days. I could barely put it down! The plot is very well explained, and was a definite attention grabber. The way you feel what the main character Gwyn is going through, really added to the overall effect of the story. Another perk of the story, is how the characters truly felt for each other which I always look for in a good book. I definitely look forward to reading more by Mrs. Largent.
I enjoyed this story of hope. The audacity of faith in the face of defeat shined brightly throughout this saga. I loved the fortitude found in trusting the only One who extends hope even in the worst of life's trials.
Light easy, western style read with some good story lines.
It had a lot of sadness in it, but overall, fast read that gave you some inside views into how some women find themselves making choices we feel would not be acceptable. While this was historical, the same thing still happens today.
Such an enjoyable story. Does become a romance but is about a young 'soiled' girl who finds herself with child & refuses to allow the madam to get rid of her child (the last female had died from this). PLUS this young girl had become a Christian and sought Him and what He wanted her to do.
There is a lot going on and why it was so enjoyable - even with sadness.
Well worth reading.
